1. Core principle: your files stay on your device

Metadata inspection, cleaning, verification, batch processing, and ZIP creation run in your browser using client-side code. We do not operate an upload pipeline for your photos or PDFs. File bytes, filenames you select, metadata values detected in those files, previews, and cleaned outputs are not sent to our servers for processing.

2. Information we may collect

Because the product is free and account-free, we collect only limited technical and operational data:

• Server/request logs typical of web hosting (for example IP address, user agent, URL path, timestamps) when you load pages on removemymetadata.com
• Aggregated analytics (for example page views, approximate location derived by analytics providers, device category) via tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity if enabled
• Optional messages you send us by email (for example to support@ or privacy@)

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or local storage for language preference, color mode, analytics, and security. See our Cookies Policy for details. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

4. How we use information

We use limited technical and analytics data to operate the website, measure traffic, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve content. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Sharing

We use infrastructure and analytics providers (for example Cloudflare for hosting/CDN, and analytics vendors). They process data only to provide their services. We may disclose information if required by law.

6. Retention

Server logs and analytics are retained only as long as needed for security, operations, and measurement, subject to provider defaults and our configuration. Email correspondence is retained as needed to respond to you.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to processing. Contact [email protected]. Note: because we do not store your cleaned files, we cannot retrieve a file you processed only in your browser.

8. International transfers

Our site may be served via global CDN edge locations. Analytics providers may process data in the United States or other countries with appropriate safeguards where required.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the Service if you are under the age required by your local law without appropriate consent.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
